Four days devoted to a single purpose: reading Nanjing properly. From the mortar of the Ming city wall to the lantern light on the Qinhuai River, from the ceremonial axis of Sun Yat-sen's mausoleum to silk threads on a brocade loom — this journey keeps away from the coach-party circuit and walks you into a living ancient capital.
